Pattern: Double Irish Chain

The most wonderful and unusual combination of black and red fabrics in this Double Irish chain, and for those who love a little bit of the unexpected — a corner that violates the colorway.
See the microcheckered black and red fabric against the black squares with a wonderful white print. The background of the quilt is a white calico with tiny black print and rows of cream squares soften the edges of the chains.
A great cozy everyday piece to have by the side of your bed or chair in a size that is easy to move from place to place.
Maker/origin unknown
Washed by hand and in great condition (only a couple very negligible light marks remain — see last photo) but some of the batting has shifted a bit over time, causing bits of gathering in places (nothing that detracts from usability at all).
Measurements: 58” x 71”

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through.
