a classic Double Irish Chain quilt in the most beautiful chalky French blue against white with a sawtooth border that adds a special touch
notice the daisies are quilted in double lines into the white spaces
this quilt comes with some wonderful provenance from the granddaughter of the maker, Ida Preece. Her granddaughter Cynthia recalls:
"My grandmother (Ida Preece) lived in Dallas and was a wonderful seamstress.
She loved beautiful cotton fabric and my mom always said she would go to Neiman Marcus and walk through ladies wear and look at the clothing construction, and then come home and make something beautiful for herse!f."
Washed by hand and in great condition, with slight residual discoloration and a few small open seams along the trim.
