Variation on a Crow's Foot Quilt
Pattern: Crow’s Foot Variation
Date: c. 1880-1890
Provenance/Notes:
A scrappy masterpiece, this quilt sparkles with her tiny little triangles and all the movement in her hourglass shaped pieces set into her blocks
Each of the tiny triangles measure only one inch
Not one block is the same and each one as wonderful as the next. Notice the one with two little green triangles, reminiscent of the lingering leaves of summer
The gorgeous deep indigo blue background is dotted with tiny circles and she has a wonderful woven, textural checkered back
Maker unknown, hails from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
Washed by hand and in excellent condition with just a touch of residual discoloration in a few lighter areas of the blocks and a couple teensy wear spots on indigo (see last two photos)
Measurements: 68” x 77”
$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount. Price for smaller items have been adjusted (lowered) to account for the lower shipping cost.
