It’s not every day that you come across a quilt with white stars against such a rich landscape of indigo fabrics. This is a stunning quilt with a primitive feel, from her scrappy piecing to her woven muslin back. The plump white stars, pieced in a wide variety of white calico fabrics feel like starfish floating in a deep blue sea. Look closely and you’ll see that there is also a wonderful variety of fabrics used to piece the indigo background. She has been washed by hand and is in great condition, with just a slight bit of staining on some of her white calico, three tiny seam openings, and a little wear to certain places on her trim. Two little triangles in the background of one of the stars have a little wear. (See photos.) A lovely treasure to bring home this summer. Who will be her lucky new owner?
