An exquisite quilt from the early 1900s made with the prettiest assortment of red fabrics.
Notice the beautiful black and red pinstripe fabric in the blocks and the charming red calico in the background of the blocks, as well as on the longer edges of the quilt.
The maker of this quilt had an incredibly artistic eye. The balance of the feathered wreaths with large centers next to the blocks with all of the angular pieces creates a very pleasing landscape of shapes.
The incredibly dense quilting gives this quilt great texture.
Washed by hand and in excellent condition with just a few places with some very light residual discoloration, but nothing that detracts from her beauty. See last photo.

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep.
