Pattern: Drunkard’s Path

Provenance/Notes:
A breathtaking iteration of the Drunkard‘s Path pattern that is reminiscent of a leafy garden path at the start of spring. On a bed, she brings a bit nature’s green indoors.
This 19th century quilt, with her beautiful overdyed green fabric against a perfectly aged creamy background, is antique quilt perfection. The quilting and piecing was done by a master quilter with tiny stitches in close rows that echo the curves of the pattern.
The quilt has a wonderful softness and crinkle that feels great to the touch.
Maker/origin unknown.
In very good condition for her age with just a couple small residual marks and a couple small blemishes to the green fabric. See last photo. Beautiful aging on the cream fabric.

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep.
