scrappy playfulness at its best! the use of available fabrics, as well as bits of fading over time, have created a particularly mesmerizing pattern that creates a bit of an optical illusion
the 4X block looks very much like a star, but the in-between blocks pieced in a lovely light blue chambray create a Shoofly block
light tones in the printed fabrics against the soft blue chambray give this quilt an airy feel, like a summer breeze
look closely, and you will see that certain areas of this quilt are more densely quilted than others with no discernible pattern, leading one to believe that this may have been a quilt that was quilted by a group of quilters around a frame
washed by hand and in good condition with a bit of evidence of loving use — some wear on the trim, a few minor residual marks, and one little ink spot on back (which only shows very slightly on a printed fabric on front) — see last photo
a handful of triangles have been replaced by hand to increase the longevity of this quilt
