Details:
a spectacular quilt that captures the wind in the trees
dated 1930 and initialed “A.N.D.” in a back corner
a graphically stunning and unusual pattern of green trees and pinwheels set against a cream background, made with sharp, meticulously pieced triangles
an incredibly densely quilted piece throughout! notice the number of stitches in each of the triangles and tree trunks and the diagonal grid quilting in the cream blocks
the pinwheel blocks are made of triangles that are the same size as the bottom and top of the tree trunks, creating wonderful visual harmony
the number of stitches on this quilt and the muslin fabric give this quilt a substantial weight for a thin quilt
washed by hand and in great condition with a handful of small residual marks (see last photo)
