Pink Moon Chimney Sweep Quilt

$0.00
sold

So you relax, you don’t fight it anymore,
the darkness coming down
called water,
called spring,
called the green leaf, called
a woman’s body
as it turns into mud and leaves,
as it betas in its cage of water,
as it turns like a lonely spindle
in the moonlight, as it says
yes.

Mary Oliver / from Pink Moon

Striking a different note than some of the classic indigo and white quilts, this piece — made with a deep starry indigo fabric against a now faded and washed petal pink — has a sweet romantic softness. Her creamy background with tiny little box prints, almost faded away in places, adds more visual interest. The indigo fabric is still rich and strong and contrasts beautifully against her pink and cream. She underwent a deep wash after years of use and emerged beautifully. She’s in good condition aside from wear along her border and some aging and very light staining of her cream fabric (mainly on the border), all part of her aged beauty. One small surface hole and a few light stains on back. She’s a very soft and cozy quilt and will quickly become a favorite!

Measurements: 75” x 75”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Tubman’s Hopetober campaign during domestic violence awareness month. Tubman provides safe shelter, legal services, mental and chemical health counseling, youth programming, and community education throughout the Twin Cities. See tubman.org for more information on their important work.

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
