Details:
a gorgeous antique Ocean Waves quilt that showcases the wonderful patina that a densely stitched indigo quilt develops over time
notice all the tiny spaces between the stitches that have gently faded over time, creating a beautiful visual texture on all the indigo triangles
the white spaces are as much of a visual feast as the indigo blocks, with an intricate feathered cross quilting motif
soft and drapey
washed by hand and carefully repaired in places to increase her longevity, including a handful of white triangles that have been replaced by hand
some fabric wear and a worn trim remain (see last photo to get an idea) — this is a quilt that must be loved with her evidence of love and age — but the dense quilting will continue to provide structure for a long life
