Pattern: Birds in Flight Variation
Date: c. 1940 - 1950
Provenance/Notes:
A beautiful, vibrant quilt with variety of floral prints. A celebration of the warmer months to come!
Backed in a wonderful blue and red floral fabric, which makes this quilt reversible if desired
Summer weight, without batting, yet has a very substantial drape and a lovely texture from all the quilting and piecing
Note that the quilter added a colorful sawtooth border on two sides to balance out the design
Maker/origin unknown
Washed by hand and in very good condition with just a few very small residual stains and one small open seam (see last photo)
Measurements: 75.5” x 76”

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep.
