Pattern: Robbing Peter to Pay Paul

Provenance/Notes:
A beautiful pattern in a soothing palette of green and white, quilted with flowers throughout. Both the leaf like shapes in the pattern and the colors bring the garden indoors.
This is a quilt that is soft to the touch and is pleasing as a bed cover. A wonderful larger size.
Embroidered in one back corner is a sweet dedication that reads “MOTHER / 1940”
She has been understandably loved and the green fabric shows the patina of time, with a few patches starting to thin a touch. Her trim was once reinforced, but done so unattractively, so it was meticulously replaced by hand, using an old fabric that does not detract from the beauty of the quilt.
Maker/origin unknown
Washed by hand and in very good condition for her age and use. Note a few small stains close to the edges that remain after wash. See last photo.
Measurements: 82” x 90”

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep.
