a true treasure for the collector, or a lover of birds and flowers — a breathtaking masterpiece of a quilt made in the Meadow Daisy appliqué pattern, with a wide border made from a gorgeous fabric printed with lovebirds in a soft red and cream
made by an expert quilter, with incredibly skilled appliqué work and dense quilting that follows the curves of the flowers and leaves of the appliqué blocks
beautiful classic colors of the era in the flower blocks — overdyed green, yellow calico, and double pink
a very soft quilt
washed by hand and in excellent condition for her age, with just three places on the appliquéd flowers that show spots of color loss — typical of these particular fabrics and telling of her history— and one very small light residual mark (see last photo)

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness.
