Provenance/Notes:
A beautiful whisper of the ocean for your home, this Ocean Waves quilt’s beauty comes from the scrappy mix of fabrics and the way the quilt has faded and aged over time
The fabrics used for the triangles are a soft mix of blues and greys in chambrays, indigo calicos, and various weaves and shirtings, with a lovely small pop of red in one block
Maker/origin unknown
Washed by hand and in very good loved condition. A few small open seams were professionally restitched, one tiny hole mended, and a tiny one remains. The trim of the quilt has worn over time and the colors have faded and become softer.
Measurements: 67” x 84”

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness.
