Red and White Nine Patch Quilt
Pattern: Nine Patch
Date: c. 1880-1900
Provenance/Notes:
A wonderful primitive Nine Patch quilt made with two different red fabrics with cream muslin accents, this quilt is the perfect classic red textile accent.
The background fabric is used in many of Nine Patch blocks, which creates a playful “disappearing” effect in certain blocks
Back is a natural muslin
Hails from the Shenandoah Valley; maker/origin unknown
Washed by hand and in great condition with just a touch of very light residual discoloration in a few of her muslin squares and a couple small places along one edge where the trim has been reinforced (see last photo); the batting along the top edge has pushed away from edge a bit from use.
Measurements: 76” x 88”
$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount. Price for smaller items have been adjusted (lowered) to account for the lower shipping cost.
