Seven Sisters Among the Flowers Quilt
Pattern: Seven Sisters

Provenance/Notes:
The most romantic quilt made in the beautiful Seven Sisters pattern, with seven stars clustered within hexagonal blocks
The wonderful 19th century fabrics in a soft mix of mostly browns, pinks, and blues are reminiscent of fallen foliage on a sunny blue sky day
The spectacular four-petal flower quilting on this quilt is as much the centerpiece as the blocks themselves and lend a wonderful texture to this quilt
Notice three quilted inscriptions on the quilt which read “Ma,” “Mama,” and “1911”
Maker/origin unknown
Washed by hand and in very good condition for her age with some very light residual discoloration to background cream fabric in places, a little residual water marking in a few blocks (not very noticeable) and few little spots and one pinprick mark. A brown fabric in one of the blocks is starting to show a bit of wear (see photo).
Measurements:73.5” x 85.5”
